Important Facts for 24-Month STEM OPT Extension
The earliest you can submit your application to USCIS is 90 days before the end date noted on your current post-completion OPT EAD.
USCIS must receive your STEM OPT application before your current 12-month OPT end date noted on your EAD card.
You are allowed to a maximum total of 150 days of unemployment, which is cumulative including both post-completion OPT (90 days) and 24-month STEM OPT (60 days).
