Funding Opportunities

The Office of Access, Belonging and Student Success offers two Graduate Assistantships, in communications and data analysis, with the goal of providing exposure, knowledge, soft skills, and a network that may become necessary in biomedical and non-biomedical science areas. 

Participating students expand on leadership, project management, and project-specific skills. Students will expand their networks as there is an opportunity to engage current graduate students, undergraduates, faculty, and staff. 

Graduate assistants are part of a supportive environment at the Office of Access, Belonging and Student Success that will provide an opportunity for professional enrichment and giving back to their community which can increase the sense of belonging. Graduate assistantship opportunities will be announced to the student body when positions become available.  

Initially as a (R25) grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)/National Institute of General Medical Sciences, amounting to $2.4 million over five years, the Weill Cornell Graduate School is proud to support efforts that will help to increase the number and enhance the training of PhD students. 

Now, as a T32 training grant, the Weill Cornell IMSD program is the first at a biomedical science graduate school in New York City. Our program supports four incoming doctoral students each year for the first two years of their training. In addition, WCGS has committed matching funds towards the support of IMSD and non-IMSD students in the third and fourth years of their training. Learn more by visiting the IMSD Page. 

Weill Cornell Graduate School (WCGS) strongly encourages our students to apply for external funding. While we guarantee funding for all students during their training, the process of writing a fellowship allows you to hone your scientific writing skills and develop your research project. Receiving a fellowship can also make your future job applications - in and outside academia - more competitive.
