As we are a new program, we are currently accepting applications from citizens of the United States or Canada only. The program is 21 months long (Fall Semester of Year 1 through Spring Semester of Year 2) and is for full-time students only.
All applicants must have earned at least a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a recognized University or College in the United States or Canada. Proof of degree conferral will be required prior to matriculation. We do not accept Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Please note that the Molecular Biology or Genetics prerequisite must have been completed within the last five years.
Prerequisite Coursework
Applicants are expected to have undertaken the following undergraduate work:
Four courses in Biological/Biochemical sciences, at least two of which had a lab component. Two of the courses should have been in:
- Biochemistry (lab component strongly recommended)
- Molecular Biology/Genetics
- One course in Statistics
- Two courses in Psychology
- One course in English Composition (or college-level rhetoric or writing course)
Grade Point Average: Successful applicants will have maintained an undergraduate average of "B" or better (GPA of 3.3) in science and humanities. The most recently admitted PhD and MS graduate education classes at WCGS had an average overall GPA of 3.6 and an average science GPA of 3.6.
